    Local 718 Members:

Earlier today, Governor Baker issued an order that all Day Cares across the State must be closed by Monday, March 23rd.

Late this afternoon, we received the following request from the Mayor’s Office:

We are writing to you because a team of City of Boston (COB) employees has been assigned to develop a plan to provide free emergency child and youth care to workers whose duties are considered essential and critical to a successful response to the COVID-19 emergency. This includes COB workers, like law enforcement and firefighters.

We are in the “Needs Assessment” phase of the project and are trying to determine potentially how many workers would need to utilize the service on a last resort basis.

We are reaching out to see if you could help us survey your members to understand how many would potentially need this service.

Members in need of this service should follow the link & fill out our survey

We need this information as soon as possible in order to develop a plan to assist with your potential emergency child care needs.
